LITHIUM CONVERSION FACILITY

Conversion Facility
In March 2025, Frontier announced that both the Government of Canada and the Province of Ontario had expressed their intention to support our planned Lithium Conversion Facility in Thunder Bay. This support will help cover a portion of the capital expenditures required for the facility’s construction. This collaboration represents a significant step in aligning Canada’s and Ontario’s critical minerals strategies, fostering a strong critical minerals ecosystem in the region. Frontier is now working with the respective agencies to finalize the related contribution agreements.
In February 2025 Frontier announced the acquisition of the vacant industrial site on Mission Island in Thunder Bay, Ontario, covering 183 acres of prime heavy industrial property. With its strategic location at 1900 108th Street, the site includes a 50-acre water lot and is ideally suited for our proposed lithium conversion facility, thanks to existing high-voltage infrastructure and proximity to essential utilities, rail, and transportation networks. This investment represents a significant milestone for Northern Ontario, reinforcing the region's role as a vital hub for Canada’s battery materials.
